Does it have legal force?

Yes; as part of the Localism Act of 2011, an approved and agreed Neighbourhood Plan is a document recognised in law and must be taken into account when determining planning applications in a designated Neighbourhood Area.

It must be stressed that the policies produced cannot block development that is already part of the Local Plan, which is produced by the Local Planning Authority (Daventry District Council in the case of Badby Parish). What they can do is shape where that development will go and what it will look like.

Currently (as at August 2015) DDC has yet to produce a local plan.
