    Dear sirs,

After visiting your website and seeing some if the walking suggestions on here myself and some members of my walking group ventured out with our dogs to your lovely woods, we had a fantastic time and following on from the walk we visited the windmill where we got a very friendly welcome and some very nice beer!

However on returning to our cars which we had parked near the church (in what we felt were the most considerate places) we were met with very rude comments by a resident, after apologising and assuring thus resident it wouldn’t happen again and starting to drive away another resident tapped on my car window and again we were met with unecessary rudeness and aggression!! Therefore we left feeling upset and angry and do not wish to return to Badby! We are involved in a lot of walking groups and these walks will not be high on our agenda. May I suggest you add some ‘places to park’ on your website so that other visitors are not met with such a vile reception.

    Yours Sincerley,

    A Leeman

      Hello Ms Leeman
Thank you for your comments on the website, concerning the issues you had when walking from Badby.

Were were pleased to see you use our website for comments, but very unhappy with the experience you had that day, which was very unfortunate, and certainly not a regular occurrence.

As you suggested, I have now added more advice on parking in the “Walks in Badby” page, and your experience and comment was discussed at the Parish Council meeting on 14 October, as we are very aware that parking in Badby can be difficult, with more visitors to our village every year.

Many thanks once again for your constructive comments.

  3. Hello,

My name is Danielle and I am a work experience student volunteering at Royal National Institute of Blind People. I am emailing your group to ask you if you would like to get involved with our Love Your Eye’s campaign.

RNIB is the UK’s lead sight charity and we are asking Rotary Groups to get involved with our Love Your Eye’s campaign.

In June RNIB will be running our first every flag day, where we will be conducting collections in streets, supermarkets, shopping centres and various other venues, where supporters will receive a Sooty pin badge in exchange for a £1 donation.

We are asking groups like the WI if they would be willing to volunteer at a Flag Day collection. We will have pin badges and stickers to give away at these collections.

If your group would be willing to help we would then look into booking a collection in your area. Alternatively if you know somewhere you could hold a collection and book it on our behalf that would be fantastic.

We would also be delighted if we could come and speak with your group about eye health in one of your public speaker slots. Every 15 minutes somebody is told they are losing their sight and 50% of sight loses is avoidable so we do hope you will find our talks of interest.

If you would be able to help us or would be interested in somebody attending one of your meetings to talk about eye health please contact my Fundraising Manager Emma Long at or call 01733 375244.

    Thank you so much.

    Danielle Watson
