Our programme for 2018 includes the following entertaining speakers and activities – all taking place on the 2nd Thursday of the month in the Village Hall
11th Jan. A Medley of Charities
Three of our members will be talking about the charities they are involved in
8th Feb . Our Centenary celebrations
Cake, fizz and our speaker, John Ward, talking on Vintage Comedy.
The dress theme will be Fashions of the last 100 years, with prizes for the best.
8th March . Wartime rations
A cookery demonstration by Jane Arnold, set as a drama, featuring the food rations of World War 2.
12th April. The history of Lamport Hall and Gardens
Vicky Howlett will tell us more about this local stately house, the home of the garden gnome.
10th May. Resolutions & Drama Group performance.
There will also be a stall of all the lovely home made crafts our members make.
14th June. Myths and legends of the Bermuda triangle.
Captains Wells will be exploring some of the folklore behind this mysterious area of the North Atlantic Ocean.
12th July. My dog nose knows.
Geoff Lambert will be bringing his Sensory Dog with him to talk about what they can do.
Carrying on our Centenary theme there will also be a competition for “Best hat from last 100 years”
9th Aug. Sausage making demonstration
Our own Debbie Walker will be giving a demonstration of her new found passion, you will never look at sausages again in the same way!!
13th Sept. In the Community
Louise Danielczuk will be explaining how Cynthia Spencer Hospice helps those who are terminally ill
11th Oct. AGM
With Fish & Chip Supper and a “Guess the Owner of the Wedding Dress” competition.
8th Nov. Belly Dance demonstration
Michelle Shireen and her Troupe will not only be giving a demonstraton but will also be inviting all members to have a go. Chance to loose some inches before the following month’s Christmas Dinner
