Badby and Fawsley Women’s Institute is part of the Northamptonshire Federation and was first formed in 1918. In 2018 we celebrated our centenary with a special meeting and the Archives group produced a booklet “Recollections of first hundred years ” which was given to all members and past members. Today we have over 40 members drawn from not only Badby and Fawsley but from a number of other villages around the area.
We are a very welcoming and fun loving group of ladies who meet in Badby Village hall at 7:30pm on the second Thursday of each month.
Covid19 restrictions from March have meant there have been no regular meetings in the Village Hall. However members have been kept up to date with a weekly newsletter. Where possible the sub groups have met via Zoom or small outdoor meetings and monthly meetings are being held via Zoom October 2020 – March 2021.
The full programme for our meetings can be found here , on the WI notice board in Badby Village hall and each month in the Link. New members and guests are always welcome and/or if you would like a friendly face to come with you to our meetings please contact any of the committee.
We enter a team in the Northamptonshire WI skittles league, with monthly practice sessions, organise monthly lunches, walks, garden visits, outings and theatre trips and have a drama and a knitting group as well as a book club and a culture club.
