The Parochial Church Council of St Mary’s Church (PCC) has already been granted full planning permission for the project to repair the roof and replace the time expired mineral roof tiles but it still needs to obtain a Faculty from the Diocesan Chancellor before it is allowed to start.
Below is the public notice that it is required to pin up in and outside the church. The Chancellor has requested that in the coronavirus situation further publicity is given in media beyond the formal notice.

NOTICE IS GIVEN that we are applying to the Consistory Court of the diocese for permission to carry out the following:
To replace the chancel and nave roofs with terne-coated stainless steel and to undertake general roof repairs in accordance with a Specification Rev A dated 27 February 2020 Schedule of Works Rev B and Pre-Construction Information dated 4 November 2019 from William Assheton of GSS Architecture Ref CCK/WFA/dmv/CHO85A together with drawings S03 Rev A, S01 Rev A, (27) 01, S02 Rev A and SK02 Rev A and to restore the clock dial in accordance with the proposal contained in an estimate dated 27 February 2020 from Gillett and Johnston
