Badby Scarecrow Festival –
Friday 11th to Sunday 13th September 2020
This year we can’t hold Badby Fayre because of the current restrictions. Instead, please help us celebrate village life by filling the village with scarecrows from Friday 11th to Sunday 13th September.
Make a scarecrow, the more creative the better. Why not give it a theme? Use fruit and veg from the garden to decorate it? Or flowers? You can make it yourself, as a group of friends, or on behalf of a village group. You can make as many as you want. Need some ideas just type ‘How to make a scarecrow’ into your search engine on your computer the internet is full of great photos.
Place your scarecrow in your garden so people walking round the village have something to smile about. If you don’t have a suitable spot, ask a neighbour, or speak to The Maltsters – they’re happy for scarecrows to live in the beer garden for the weekend.
If you are short of materials there will be some wooden stakes, straw and twine in the corner of the Maltsters car park from next week so help yourself.
There’ll be prizes for the best scarecrows if you register your entry, £3 each, at The Little Shop / The Maltsters.
All proceeds will go to support the work of St Mary’s Church.
