With the advent of colder weather more birds are using gardens and garden feeders for a source of food. Two birds that have been in and around our garden recently are nuthatch (left) and treecreeper (below). Nuthatches are regular users of garden feeders all around Badby, often seen hanging upside down.
Treecreepers don’t visit feeders but might be spotted spiralling round the trunk of a tree, appearing and disappearing as they make their way up or down. Being mainly an unobtrusive brown and white colour they are easy to miss but often tag on to mixed flocks of tits during the winter.
