Badby bird notes for October 2018 –

This is a quiet time of year for birds in the garden as there is plenty of food available elsewhere. Most of the feeder visits are from blue, great and coal tits with marauding jackdaws and the occasional magpie trying to muscle in.

Back in the middle of September the second brood of house martins fledged from the nest under our eaves. A sparrowhawk was seen in the vicinity at the time so hopefully none of the young house martins met an early demise!
