There was ringing from 3.30pm until 5pm. Afterwards there were sandwiches, cakes and tea in the church. This was followed by a short business meeting. There was time spare until 7pm, for the bells to be rung again and left mouth upwards for Sunday ringing. This meant that the clock did not chime overnight.
At 7pm the annual ringers’ carol concert began. Prayers were led by our Rector, the Revd. Sue Faulkner. The ten carols were accompanied on the organ by member the Revd. Michael Haighton and the branch musical ensemble comprising a Clavinova, flute, viola, clarinet and tuba. There were six short items between the carols from different tower teams. One villager accepted the invitation to come along!
