Spring changes are well underway by the end of March. Plenty of bluebells are coming out in the woods and other spring woodland flowers have also appeared.
In the last few weeks we’ve had a noticeable increase in finches on our feeders. These have included greenfinches and siskins joining increasing visits from goldfinches and chaffinches. As a result, the feeders have needed topping up much more frequently!
I think I’ve heard a blackcap singing but chiffchaffs are certainly in evidence around the village and in the woods. RP
