HORSE CHESTNUT TREE ON THE CORNER OF MAIN STREET AND CHAPEL LANE

Following the recommendation of the latest monitoring report that the Horse Chestnut tree at the corner of Main Street and Chapel Lane, near Park House, should be removed owing to extensive, advanced decay, Badby Parish Council has made arrangements for the felling of the tree.It is planned that the tree will be taken down towards the end of the week starting 4 April (probably Thursday 7 April, subject to weather).

Please note that the area will be cordoned off for safety, and you are asked not to enter the area.  It is not expected that the road will need to be closed.

The extensive decay will limit the amount of usable wood, but what wood is recovered from the tree will be left for a few days for parishioners of Badby to take for their own use.  We would be glad to receive donations from those who take wood, which will be used to replace and maintain trees on the Green and elsewhere in Badby.  An ‘honesty’ box will be available for those wishing to make a donation.
