Growth Action Plan for St Mary’s Church, Badby

At the special service at St Mary’s Church, the Growth Action Plan for the Knightley Parishes was launched by the Revd. Canon Miles Baker, the Peterborough Diocesan Director of Mission, on Sunday, January 18.  About 45 people got to the service, most having to walk up the hills which were covered in snow. Miles illustrated the tension between the reality of tradition and the vision of the plan.

The specific action points for Badby are:

  1. Develop the All Age Worship service at 11am on the second Sunday of each month, to include not just children but families and people of all ages. Give more people ownership of this service, for example by asking them to write and / or read prayers or give a talk.
  1. Increase the musical content of all services including sung repsonses in the Holy Communion services. Offer a choice of tunes and allow the congregation to decide which they would prefer.
  1. Develop an intercession  rota and invite people to write and lead the intercessions at the 11am Holy Communion service on the first Sunday of each month.
