Ring out 2014 –

After practising at the usual time, seven bellringers gathered again at 11.30pm on Old Year’s Night to ring a farewell to 2014 ending with diminishing rounds.  After a short break for a toast and nibbles expertly dispensed by Peter and Pat McAllister, the bells were fired (rung together simultaneously) 12 times at midnight to greet 2015 followed by Queens and fire; Tittums & fire; Kings & fire. Then some plain hunting. The bells were finally lowered in backward rounds with the heaviest bell leading down. We were delighted to greet 13 non-ringing visitors in the tower to share the celebrations.  But disaster , none  offered to learn to ring!
