Work planned for A361 accident spot

On Friday 14 February members of Badby Parish Council met with road engineers and accident officials from Northants Highways to discuss the safety of the bend on the A361 near the Staverton crossroads, following the tragic accident there recently and other serious incidents.

We were told of a significant plan of work which will start in March comprising: replacing the drainage gulleys and roadside ditch (west side) to improve the drainage, cutting back all shrubs and trees on Highways land on the west side to improve visibility, replacing and re-siting signage to make it clearer and consistent, redressing the road improve road marking, as well as addressing the run-off of water from agricultural land adjacent.

Please note that there will be a two-week closure in March (currently
planned for 10-24 March) for this work to take place.

Please keep an eye on
