It was very quiet for birds around Badby in October. The last swallows and house martins went around the end of September and the vast majority of birds now flying around the village seem to be wood pigeons and jackdaws.
On walks, I regularly see a kestrel hovering looking for prey, but on one occasion I saw one on the ground on the cricket field hopping around looking for something to eat.
We’ve had very few birds visiting our garden feeders but last month when our plum tree was shedding fruit we had visits from fox, muntjac and badger.
